Yeah, with regards to RP inactivity, it's mostly my fault. I hate to say I'm busy, but I am, I've been really pre-occupied with work lately. I've been getting 30-40 hour work weeks this month since 2 people left (The ONLY hardware employee got fired and her boyfriend left the same day because she got fired, and I'm expected to fill in for both their hours, the knobheads...) I'll get an IC post coming up today, but I don't think I'll be able to get a tour up and running anytime soon, what with my schedule going as it is.

So instead of an actual tour, for pacing reasons, I'll substitute it with a simple, slow-paced IC tutorial on how the combat works, which behaves like a tour, but isn't grouped and organized; one that's tailored to each of your guys' classes, and how they would relate in combat situations, as well as introducing enemy types and strategies. Again, I'm really sorry that I haven't been around to head the RP, but I'll try my best to at least stay around.

When you say 'Krista saw a giant fire off behind them' do you mean something like bushfire or is there a giant firing something off with a cannon?

Also, in regards to how Krista sees this fire/giant, is it only visible strictly through the corner of her left eye or can she look at it full-on, and you were just describing how she first spotted it?

I mean fire as in like a explosion-like fire, with the fire being giant, not a giant firing a cannon. But what you interpret that fire was to your character, as well as how intently you look at it is up to you!

I just assumed the fire was just the backdraft from from leaving the atmosphere, but if it's something else than OOOOO MYSTERIOUS O:

It would seem so, since Aulair is able to wheeze which suggests he has trouble breathing, instead of not breathing at all as you would without air.

And if there's air, then it wouldn't be totally necessary for the angels to use a halo to fly around because their wings would still be able to push air around. They'd just have next to no control because they've never experienced perfect weightlessness before.

I've got a question about the pressure stabilisers. What do they generally look like? All I can think of is the pressure pill from Futurama and that's not leaving a good impression. Maybe some kind of tiny packback with a breathing mask?

Whatever you feel meets your fancy, I'd like all personal stuff like that to be like whatever you want it to be; personalize your experience and whatnot. :P

But if you really want a concrete definition in the canon Sentain "Universe", it's a completely transparent, omni-flexible hazmat suit for your head which serves as an under-armor for helmets and over-armor for the helmetless. Wearing them is mandatory for all Domain 2 operations because of the deadly vacuum effects of space.

I think now's the best time to introduce a new mechanic due to our plans on rebooting this RP into gear; and what better way to do it than introduce GEAR.

Due to our low numbers, I think it's best if I include some way of improving the characters. The combat system I put into play was designed for multiple people, and the only way I can make the combat in tours fun without either dumbing it down or making it ludicrously hard is to turn up the power of the characters themselves since we lack in numbers.

All information can be found later in the OP, but I'll list the general idea I've got (these rules are not final):

That's the gist of it. With the exception of the last 2, I think this might work out okay, but let me know what you think just in case. I'm still kind of skeptical about what adding this feature to the RP will do.

Hello, new mechanic

This all sounds pretty swell, but I just have 2 questions:

1. Potential stupid question, but when you say "approx. 1 per tour" you mean that only one item will drop and we'll all have to right over who gets it, as opposed to one per character?
(I have to ask this because WoW's the Raid Finder has made me a bit sceptical on loot drops being too generous)

2. Is there, by any chance, ever going to be a scenario where 'Terwynd's Overpowered Roleplay Killer' will actually drop and our characters will have to go on a massive journey to get rid of it, but when they finally get the chance to destroy it, one of them is overpowered by greed and the others have to yell at them to cast it into the fire?

I'd like some of that Regnant tech. Are they specific items or nondescript? Because I think my 'collect every gun and mod' complex is starting to kick in.

1: I'm thinking one per tour in total, but for the sake of our current situation, I think I'll be a bit 'generous' and grant one for everyone this tour to crank up our character's power levels.

I'm guessing you mean specific vs nondescript as in:

Drops from an existing list of items that randomly pop in
vs.
Gear is made up on the spot and given to those who need it.

If so, I'm going with the 'made up on the spot' route for RP purposes. It wouldn't really make good sense for me to go the first route and have randomly generated crap pop out of tours because you can't re-do them, and farming for gear isn't the direction I want to go with this system.

The way I'll go on this will be as follows:

1: Tour is completed, with a special objective fulfilled.
2: Both Gear drops will be related to the Tour and the objective.
3: Gear will be tailored to your archetype and desired combat role.

Again, apologies for the shitty outline.

Some major combat rule changes are coming to the OP after this tour ends, mostly to balance out some of the whole "short staffed" problem we have.

Here's what to expect:
(Again the following rule changes below are not final, I am working on and changing them as you're reading this. Confirmed-as-final rules will be marked with a yellow number)

'Rule Changes':

I like the guard ability rule and the health improvements. But would increased health increase the health penalty for using Krista's burst attack? Otherwise it would be pretty OP.

Also, with the Hell-pedia, could there also be a running list of all the equipped Gear? I think that would be useful.

1:The Health increase would only affect Krista's health by one, but yes, the Burst attack will do an extra self-damage point.

2:Yep. I will have two separate sections for Enemies and Gear alike in the Hellpedia, along with who has what equipped.

Krista definitely needs some good character development to make up for the totally out of character arse kicking just there. That could have been anyone, and I want to get back into Krista's personality again.

Also sorry it took so long. Hope it lived up to expectations.

Also we seem to have used a different gear than we planned earlier. Weren't we going to use the Soul Sappers? Either way it's cool.

I think I'm ready to expand the RP's character roster. To anyone new, I've got space for an extra 2 people right now, just post a Character Sheet, and I'll take a look at it.

If anyone has been thinking of joining the RP in the past, now's the time to post a sheet.

Not so much that the gear has a different name, but it has a different effect. The Soul Sappers were supposed to let Krista use her burst attack at a distance (by blowing up the enemy's soul, hence soul sapper hueha), while the new one lets her avoid recoil.

The Blitz gear and its effect could make another piece of gear for her to earn later on, like a passive spell that lets her avoid the damage of her normal spell. I have run out of places to put things on her guns, anyway. Should move to a 3d model rather than a simple picture.

In addition, Krista's new pistols! (Seriously I think I have the skills to use a model from turbosquid)

Past Life: Nathaniell was a general practitioner turned plague doctor working in the late eighteenth century, during an outbreak of the bubonic plague. While he tried to rid his patients of the deadly disease, medical techniques of his era couldn't effectively combat it, leading to many deaths at his hands. Eventually, he contracted the plague, causing him to treat himself in the hopes of succeeding where he failed his patients. As he tried more outlandish and downright ridiculous treatments, he began to spiral into insanity, driven by the urge to cleanse himself before he died. One such treatment involved strapping a shaved chicken to his sores, though lacking a chicken, he used a crow. It was at this point he began to bleed inside his lungs, and drowned.
