No, it's a perfectly good bill. Just poorly worded and way too broad, it's protecting the film and music industries from the "Piracy" (I.E. music and videos on youtube) which takes a huge chunk out of their profits, while unintentionally hurting the internet and video gaming industry. Seriously though, did you even READ the actual document? If you didn't, your opinion is completely invalid.

Lazer, instead of arguing, maybe you should think of the reaction that your posts would recieve BEFORE you post them? Of course you're going to get a negative reaction if you slander something many other people onthe forum love, and for no good reason, too.

This bill's intentions are very helpful. However, if video games become affected, It will only hurt the gamers and the game developers. Hell, I know I bought SEVERAL games simply because of the playthroughs of famous YouTube figures like Tobuscus, TotalBiscuit and SeanNanners. Overall, the current wording of the bill makes this a VERY dangerous train wreck to the entire video game industry.

Well, those are my thoughts anyway.

I agree with Terwynd, Although this would help defend against piracy, there isn't really a need for video games to be effected by this...

I don't know but this is the stupidiest thing I heard... And in the end it makes no sense. "Let's Play"'s are like walkthroughs and they give a spotlight to the game AND make player wanna play it. I don't see how it hurts bussiness unless they thought of it like 'These guys showed are game and made players hate of it because the inside content sucks but the coverpage rules to make players play it' kind of way then I see why their doing it.

Razor, the bill isn't about video games. That's a consequence that has to do with the poorly-worded-ness (pun intended) of an otherwise helpful, but possible extreme (five years in prison?), bill. It was most likely suggested by lobbyists from the movie industry to combat piracy.

Just by looking over the bill one more time, thinking long and hard about it. It takes away our right to info on the internet. Thats just complete crap really.

I think it also might violate the fair use policies that the internet has, which basically states as long as you aren't profiting from posting the copyrighted material, it's fine to use unless the company that owns the material says otherwise.

Either way, it's unconstitutional in both areas. So even if it does pass, it won't last too long.

Let's hope it doesn't stay for long...or atleast, change the wording.

I just hope that if it does pass they will come to a good realization about what they are really doing. I would personally think it has a good chance of passing. As long as the Music and Movie industry's keep pushing it, it will probably pass.

No doubt that someone in congress has realized how poorly worded this thing is, we just have to hope they actually edit it so it doesn't completely demolish the free advertising that the video game industry sort of relies on.

If they do edit it though, I'd heavily support the bill.

They are always sending things out that violate the amendments. I don't think its already dumped. It cant be.. its too soon though..I could be wrong.

T was introduced May 22nd... It's just no one had heard of it until recently.

They'll wait to see if it passes to declare it unconstitutional. If it doesn't pass, then they have no reason to shoot it down now.

It takes a long time for a bill to go through all the committees before it reaches the floor.

Its still pretty soon though. It has not been that long sense it was first announced.

True... Idk the US government is really screwed up anyway.

The government has a ton of problems. The economy is not even half of it.

If I've read correctly, then they've turned down the bill because it infringed our first amendment rights. I'm not too sure though.
