Heh, I was of the same mind once — I still don't store my payment info when I use a card. I am given to understand, however, that one can set up a 'Steam Wallet', allowing you to put away some spending money in a single transaction, to be used at your leisure.

Make sure you play half life one and its two expansions while you're at it. Not only is it awesome, but half life two makes a little less sense if you don't know what actually happened beforehand.

It was a painful process, though. I had to let it all install overnight, before receiving a notification that my video driver was not good enough. I followed their instructions for a new driver, downloaded it, installed it, restarted and found out that it didn't work.

Deleted it, noticed how terrible graphics on a black and white page become, looked in futile for a new driver before settling for the old one that didn't work, installing again, restarting, and celebrating the success.

I tried to update my drivers a week or so ago. One blind panic and a system restore later, I decided never again.

So what's your Steam ID? It's different to the name you use to log in — searching names doesn't always work, so probably the most sure-fire way to help someone find your profile is to go to Steam -> Settings in the menu bar, then click the 'Interface' tab and then check the 'Display Steam URL' box. Then you can go to your profile page and copy and paste the link. Or you can get the link via steampowered.com, but if you've not logged in there before you might have to do an email verification.

EDIT: Nope, no it's not. I'm not getting any results when I search for this Steam ID. My profile is Dark_potato57, anyway. I searched that from a non-logged-in computer and I got myself in the results, so that should work.

Things go well for me. Year twelve is a pain, but I'll get through it.

I've pretty much set up shop on the RPA and Lake Valor forums, so I'm getting my feed of threads and roleplays and such.

The problem with this forum is that there's not enough stuff here for people to care about and post about. If we had a more varied selection of topics and a stronger motivation to contribute, I strongly believe that we would start posting more

This general chat thread is a start because it is a catch-all interest thread for anybody to talk about anything, unconstrained by a topic. I actually forgot that we had one of these.

I'm actually really bored right now because MSPA forums are down right now for upgrades. I've been revisiting Serebii forums, but that place is pretty much a festering trash heap where being an argumentative jerk is the norm. I think the main reason for that is that compared to MSPA, Pokemon is a rather consumer-oriented franchise that attracts unsavory characters with less interest in intellectually engaging topics such as webcomics (Homestuck is a pretty dense piece of literature, after all)

Ooh, that brings up a pretty interesting question. Should Homestuck be considered legitimate literature?

This. This is the problem. No one is bothering to post anymore. Not even in the threads that only require a quick google search to contribute to (eg. the "Random & Crazy Pictures", "What are your favorite youtube videos?" and "Music Appreciation (Forum Game)" threads). Not to mention the lack of people willing to give Terry's RP a chance.

Not only that, but I'm beginning to notice a decrease of posting even in the GAC Skype group. Not good enough, boys. If you want the forum to stay alive, I want to see some action being taken.

People don't have to join RPs if they don't want to, and even then I got Terwynd onto the RPA so that Sentain would actually last.

And yeah, the Skype group has really dropped down in terms of things to actually talk about, most of them retreating to what games came out, why people are too lazy and short variations of swear words.

In order to create a stronger motivation to post, we must make better threads

Also, Kitty, the problem with the threads you posted are that they don't really generate much discussion and are instead driven by simple contributions, most of which are overlooked. I know I don't look at any of those threads, because I know that it will lead to nothing.

From my observations the forum tends to get active once the vacations hit. In all honesty, the whole reason I lurk around the forum instead of posting and don't join RP's anymore is because of school and all that shizzle.

Perhaps you all can advertise on the Sporum.

We already did, but that thread kinda died.
