| I made an adventure with a small city, but with only 1 building! (building by Max93000). Turns out you can do this easily, make the building as big as possiable, creatures small. Put the creatures inside it and you got a city with one building! This method could reduce complexity by a whole lot! AND you can make an entire city blow up without going to each and every building. Here is the adventure: Play it. Tell me what U think. Is this a good method? | |

| Actually, this is not a very good method at all.
1. You cannot put in nearly as much detail in the building editor as in the adventure editor. 2. Advanced behaviors do not work with a single object (see this for details) 3. It looks so much cooler when individual buildings blow up. 4. It is inevitable that the captain will sink into the floor.
And so many more reasons I can't name off the top of my head.

| I thinked about this a lot..
But, the thing is that the city will look very undetailed. everything will look so blury. I don't like that.

| I think it's a great idea. It has a lot of problems if played from inside, but can be very useful if viewed from a distance. You could FINALLY put the Mushroom Cloud effect to good use! | |

That's a perfect example of AI being messed up. As you know, creatures can't see through buildings. That's how the game was created. When you put a building in an adventure, it creates an invisible box around the building that defines what can't be seen through. If the building is unevenly shaped, then creatures may go or be inside the box. When a creature is inside the box, it can't see anything, therefore it can't be aware of anything. So AI doesn't work at all.

| I think it is good to make entire blocks out of one building, but a city? It would be blurry and undetailed, and would have the much hated ankle deep building sink thing. Maxis adventures contain interesting hints as to how things can be designed. If anyone could make a good city building, it would be maxis. They probably would have done so if it didnt have those drawbacks. Not that it's bad to be different from Maxis :) | |

| I find when I make entire rooms out of one building, a lot of small details have to be added or else it looks like a bunch of blocks stacked up :P | |

| it could be used, if you make a couple building in the editor at once. Dont make a street or anything, just 2-3 building and then just placed them along streets. And, I think this is a cool idea, less time for downloading creations :P | |

| I've had a lot of experience with the No-Line-of sight thing... and 'lost 'some good adventures because of it. | |

| My method for a reoccuring city or area in a seris is to make a template with every feature included and edit it every adventure part. I then place gates where I don't want the player to go and delete items that aren't in sight. A very good example is my Sovester's Iraqi Adventure! series, mostly after part 4. If you go into the editor with them you will notice that sides of buildings, roofs, WHOLE buildings, and people are missing. I guarentee you will feel different about the series if you looked at the adventures in the editor. Each part is so detailed I have to delete half the base to save complexity. | |

| I personally agree with Gelo on this. But I also agree that this is a great feature for a backdrop! Just not an actual place in an adventure! |
