Well, the great leader of Mac has died from a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
Many of us are sad and grieved to see him go, of course, as he was a great innovator and leader of the iPad, iPod, iHome series, as well as many more.
PC and Mac users may unite in the grief of Mr. Job's death.

Feel free to leave your remarks here, as well as what you may know about him.
He died today, Oct. 5th, near 7:30.

Wow. Just wow. This is really sad. And a bit odd, because I was online right around the time that Apple updated their homepage with this news. I saw an advertisement for the Macbook Air one minute, then I came back and there was this news... Truly saddening.

Just heard the news... Though I'm not much of an Apple user myself, it's still sad to see him go- let alone from such a violent disease. He was a great man who did great things, and did not deserve to leave this world in such pain.

Love him or hate him, there's no doubt he changed many things in this world. I can only hope one day I could look back on my own life and feel that I've been as much of an influence on humanity as he was.

Last year my Business class watched a documentary about him. It was pretty inspiring. I was sorry to hear that he died.

Out of all the things that brilliant man did people are only going to remember him for giving them ipads. News made that clear when it was showing "All of his notable work" and only displayed ipods and pads.

=/

Um..I really didn't know about him but after hearing the news and looking him up on wikipedia I felt sad. He did other things then apple like working with Disney (that's what the wikipedia said but then again it's not always true..). Anyways, may he rest in peace.

It's sad to see such an amazing man go, especially with all the things his company has done for the Modern world. And it's always a harsh reminder when I see someone who succumbed to cancer, seeing as it got pretty close to happening to me. It's a horrible disease, the man didn't have too much time left, but it's sad to see him go around this time. Coming up on the holiday season.

But by a Business standpoint, Apple is not in a good place. Steve was a marketing GENUS, he might as well be why apple got back on it's feet after they fired him (And brought him back in) and why the Mac, iphone, and ipads are doing so well. Without him, they're marketing won't be as strong as it could be. And that easily could have dire effects on their profits.

Rest in peace, Steve. You've done so much for us and will never be forgotten.

I'm a mac btw.

Steve Jobs was an inventive and efficient man. I think it's a bit of a tribute to him that I'm typing this from something he helped design (Mac Book Pro). He died young, and he didn't deserve it. There will always be more creative innovations and people, but Steve was just a GENIUS. Mac's ratio of making amazing products will most definitely decrease. Well, rest in peace Steve. You deserve these tributes. You're amazing.

Oh and The big Boss, just so you know, you said GENUS instead of GENIUS.

This is really unfortunate, this man could have done great things in his lifetime. I've never owned any of his products, but that doesn't dull my sorrow.

I'm totally going to quote you on this when Steve Burns dies (which I can only hope will never happen. He was and still is my hero.)

Anyways, I've always preferred Microsoft, but Steve Jobs definitely made some of the greater advances in computer technology, and if anything, the "rivalry" between Microsoft and Apple has benefited everyone.

Yeah, Steve jobs was the second most specific classification of species. Deal with it.

But it's very sad that he died. He did come up with good ideas, I'm not gonna lie, but it's not as if he goes into a trance and wakes up suddenly and says "iPad." He had teams of designers and engineers helping him come up with this stuff. Also, he's taken long medical leaves in the past and the company didn't crash and burn then, they actually plan up to five years ahead like a good company. I think it's kind of stupid that the guy who invented the GUI will most likely go down in history as "that iPad guy" or something similar.
