Blackstar


Prologue:As the council rose to judge Terwynd’s claim, many voices started to rise up, some positive, some negative, some confused.
“I don’t think I need to repeat myself when I say we evacuate this planet. Blackstar has caused enough damage, and we don’t need anymore lives at stake here. The safest place right now for this galaxy is Coronia. Now I know this sounds a bit greedy, being that is my homeland, but our scientists have PROVEN that!” Terwynd spoke.
Immediately, a council member asked, “Excuse me, Terwynd, but this seems far too similar to one of your immigration advertisements. You know… the one where millions of refugees came to your planet living HAPPILY EVER AFTER!?”
Various angry voices arose. Terwynd’s claim was turning very badly.
Ultimately, the high councilman spoke, “Terwynd, your claim is illogical. The council has spoken: I deny your claim. The council may be dismissed.”
Terwynd made his way to his ship denying interviews and making it past photographers when he at last sat down in disbelief at the council’s decision.
“Was that really your best shot? I saw your argument on Live News.” His co-pilot asked.
“What will it take for these fools to realize they are about to plunge to Blackstar? I’ve given the facts, referenced other empires that were destroyed by being pulled into the Blackstar, but they all keep jumping to that stupid commercial. That was the fifteenth empire who said that.”
“And you didn’t even create the commercial. Gaara did.”
“Yes, but she is my daughter. They think my claim related to that.”
“You know, there were six empires who listened to your claim, that’s six races indebt to you.”
Terwynd grinned, grabbed a can of Blue Spice Sleeping Aid and said “Here’s to many more empires who listen to common sense. Dream well, Ardent.”
“You too.” Ardent replied as he ingested the spice.

CHAPTER 1:
That was 3 weeks ago. Now the fifteen Homeworlds who neglected Terwynd’s claim have been sucked into the giant rip. Many more empires turned to his cause in light of this, and many have made their way to Coronia already. “Ok team, now it’s our turn to leave. Wheels, you did a good job on that engine repair. Ardent, start up the ship.”
The engines revved and Terwynd made his way to the mess hall with Wheels. “Have any of you made your decisions of which planet to stop at first?” Terwynd asked.
“Remember, we can stop at:
1: Port Morgavus, a Scientist Archetype research facility orbiting a lava planet
2: Serphna, a metropolitan planet, Home to an Economist Empire
Or 3: Rysh: Watery homeland of the Croakil Warrior Empire
Wheels, Drakra, Addie, this decision could give us opportunities to rally more empires to our cause while simultaneously giving us a vacation for our hard work. What planet should we go to?”

"Port Morgavus sounds like the place to encourage emigration," Wheels claimed, "No one in their right mind wants to stay on a magma coated planet. Besides, I've heard they've been working on some new turret upgrades that improve the body count tenfold."

"Hmm, sounds like a good plan." Terwynd nodded as he sharpened his fighting staff. "Are Drakra and Addie still in the Cryosleep chambers?"

"It seems like that," said Wheels, "I've got some tests to run on the ship's cooling chambers, see if it can handle all that heat."

"We ARE going to a lava planet, so we'll need an efficient coolant system. I'm gonna wait till everyone is out of cryo, so I'll see you then." Terwynd responded

Wheels gives a noncommittal grunt and walks off with his wrench swinging in hand.

Terwynd walks to the military post and buys 200 bullets for 100 Credits.

As soon as she wakes from cryosleep, Addie gets her bio-scanner to check out where everyone else is, and starts heading to what she believes is Terwynd's location.

As she came closer to the ship's training center, Terwynd waved at her and asked, "Hey Addie, how was Cryo?"

"Well, the worst part was waking up again. Anyway, Sir, I need you to take a look at this." Addie tosses her bio-scanner to Terwynd. "Someone could be trying to scan the ship. I can't get a clear reading, it could be because there's another bio-scanner interfering with mine."

"...huh. Thanks for the update Addie. I will look out for and try to track whoever's scanning us. I only hope it won't interfere with our primary mission." replied Terwynd as he examined the bio-scanner."

Wheels comes into the room, patches of grime and oil covering his face. "Cooling systems are powered up. How long do we have 'till arrival?"

"We'll be there shortly, we're entering the star system's outer border. Even when we arrive, we still have to wait for a freed up landing zone. Transports stop at Port Morgavus regularly." Ardent replies from the cockpit.

"Hello" a creepy voice says behind them, "I am Red Lantern, I live on the planet Mascotia, Mascotia is a safe distance from Blackstar but I was on vacation and it is far to dangerous to travel back alone, also please don't ask how I got on your ship".

Wheels sputters a cuss in his home language. "How did you get on the ship??" he demands, raising his wrench defensively

Drakra eventually wakes up and sees red lantern and asks "How in the universe did you get here?"

"Well, well, looks like frosty the snowman's awake. That's just what I was asking," Wheel grunts.

" Good, good." Addie says, looking around at everyone. "The more people the better, I think, especially if we run into any combat type situations. Oh, and Mr. Lantern... I'm just going to assume you teleported in... I will need you to register your teleportation technology with the ships computer. Wouldn't want to mistake you as an enemy trying to beam aboard."

" What? Enemies are beaming aboard?!" Yudrosun asks as he walks over rubbing his eyes. "No? Sorry, think I'm still half asleep here... Wheels! Oh, Spode, what a sight to start the day with... Just joking, Wheels, you know your're my favorite Ikarthyan."

"It's a pleasure to see you to, princess," Wheels glowers.

"That was one costume party... So, Terwynd, what are we up against today?" Yudrosun asks.

"Well," Terwynd Reponds,"we haven't been able to contact Port Morgavus for a while now. Communication systems must be jammed. Either that or..."He paused and shook his head. "Never mind, we'll be at Morgavus shortly, and if the station's under attack, we've got the weaponry and battle training to defend it." he continued.

"Here, this is what gets me around" Red Lantern holds out a blue glowing seashell "It can Teleport me to any allied area I have registered it to, sadly I can't teleport home because though I found it there, I only learned its powers on my vacation" he explains, "I got on this ship while you were at the meeting so I could register it,you should really close your ship hatches. Anyway, you can identify its signal because it has a teleportation signal, but it has a natural frequency".

"Great, more hippies," Wheels says, giving an unfrequent grin. "Ship off Ter, let's kick some Grox processors."

"All right! Ardent, Prepare the ship's turret systems in case of attack." Terwynd replies.
"Yessir. Now you're speaking my language!"
