I need help

I need some help with making a forum and there are some specific things I would like to know:

1. How to change the banner thingy (Like the GAC one)
2. How to add "Latest Topics"

And any helpful information would be.. Helpful.

Pretty simple.

For the Banner,

First, turn on "Advanced mode"

Then, go to "Display" then to the "Pics and colors" tab (On the left hand side) Click on Pics management, and again. Go advanced mode.

Then simply upload the picture from your computer, or if you have it on the internet, copy and paste the URL to the text bar.

To add latest topics:

Go to "Modules"

Click on "Widgets"

Then scroll down and make sure you're on "Existing widgets" you should see a lot of widgets. Find the ones you want and drag and drop them into the space above all the widgets. It's the space directly below "Manage forum Widgets"

also, how do you get rid of the thing that says "Forummotion?"

Oh, and also, Hutch, the latest topics thing doesn't work on all forum setups...just for info.
And Frostie, what do you mean by the "Forumotion" thing? Each template is different. You might want to be a bit more specific. Anyhoo, good luck with your forum.

Nevermind, fixed.

If you're looking for scrolling text, then follow these steps:

1. Go to the tab at the top that says "General"
2. Look at the boxes on the left, and find the one that says "Messages and e-mails"
3. Click "Announcements"
4. Don't worry about the rest of the stuff, just scroll down and find the "Announcements" box.
5. Click the green plus sign to add an announcement. Whatever you type in will be added onto the scrolling thing at the top.

How do you show the rest of the user groups in the legend?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but I'll try answering:

To add new groups, go to the "Users and Groups" tab at the top. When you're there, don't even worry about the "Rank Administration" thing. Just go to "Group Administration".

At the bottom of that box, click "Create New Group" and just put in as many groups as you want for your forum. Then you can customize things, such as colors and how to get into groups. You can set the groups so that you automatically join when you get to a certain number of posts, or you can make it so people must be manually added.

I did that.

If you're still having issues, make sure that the group isn't hidden

All you have to do is go to one of those groups in the group administration, click on it. And then click on either "Open group" or "Closed group"

I clicked "Open group" and it still doesn't sow up.
