Banned - No Notification

Although I am normally a calm person, I am a little bit upset right now. I seem to have been banned from the forum, or at least that is what I am told when I attempt to log in. What's more frustrating than the fact that I was banned however, is that I have received no notification as to the reason for this ban, so I have no way to defend myself if it was a misunderstanding of some sort.

I am hoping that it was in fact a misunderstanding, whether on my part or on the part of the administration, and would please like a response by someone who knows what has happened so that I can know why my account was banned.

I have no clue how could this have happened, no one from the administration banned you, nor did the moderators. As of now, it would probably be a member who attained these rights through a glitch.

A promise to look into the subject, and I'll unban your first account

I didn't ban you, I can assure you of that. It's probably just a glitch, sort of like when Lazer got accidentally banned when lama was banned.

That was actually because they shared an IP because they lived in the same area. This obviously couldn't have happened. Since bans never glitch up, so chances are a member did it because they had had the rights to do so from some random glitch.

And I think I know who did it.

Alright, thanks Hutch! If you can you should probably delete the duplicate account since I just used it so I could get this resolved.

EDIT: Also, isn't there a moderation/administration action log in the admin CP of these kinds of message boards? I don't know about these ones specifically but I think there is something there to check on what actions were done.

How is it that someone got those privileges via glitch?

There's been a glitch where some people can ban low ranked people...maybe it's that.

Thats something that should be fixed. To avoid this happening again.

Anyway, i was asleep so it couldn't have banned you. But i assume it was a member either accidentally clicked the Ban button or did it on Purpose. I have my thoughts though on that it may have been.. Lone. Since Lone hates Nagho and now he has left, it wouldn't raise as much suspicion. But i shall not take any hasty decisions. I have no clue who it could have been.

Edit: Talked to Lone and i got it confirmed it wasn't him. I am not totally sure though.

Even though i'm a evil Gothic person, i would never use the glitch to ban anybody. Do newbie's have the power to ban people? If they do it might be a newbie pressing buttons for the fun of it.

No, but I'm sure someone with the necessary computer knowledge can easily work his way through a "simple" (as simple I mean security-wise) website. This probably isnt as easy as it sounds and definitely easier said than done, but could be achieved.

Also, if an admin or mod leaves the site open (logged-in), a friend could easily go to the admin section and randomly ban ppl :E: lol
