| What if there is to be a chip that trains you to do jobs, Do math, Manage your wealth, or even search/browse the web, would you put it in your brain?
I know I would not! I just don't like the thought of putting a chip that would access the internet and other sources making it open to hacking and viruses, I feel that i can do just fine without out a chip in my head.
Please post your thoughts and concerns of what might happen if the technology of "BrainChips" is within our future.

| I say no. Believe it or not, whatever the pessimists out there in the world say, our world is a great place. Any kind of Brain Chip technology seems unnecessary, since we're all doing just fine and there's not much more we can do to make it better. Call me conservative if you like, but that's just my own opinion. | |

| Not really, in the future, IF this brain chip gets to every living person, and if war breaks out or when terrorists learn to manipulate the chips, war and terror attacks would become deadlier than ever, with chips training mere newcomers to shooting to a grizzled veteran solely on a chip to me sounds corrupt, sure there are practical and outright great uses for the type of chip you're describing, but like you said, I wouldn't want to have a computer virus in my head, and I wouldn't feel secure if WWIII breaks out and every soldier in the world was a modern day Rambo. | |

| It would not improve the world. Sure, it might look it at first, until the things already mentioned kicked in. War, viruses, attacks, all worse than ever. Not to mention the fact that there could be the possibility of the makers of the chips (or the government) putting programs in remotely.
In the end, everyone with a chip (and many without) would die. Could a 'Death' virus not be created? Quite a depressing future.

| Its just a bad idea period. Just look at all the kids in our genteration failing do to too much gaming. Giving them a chip like that will surlly make all of us brain dead. | |

| 2 words... Complete. Chaos.I agree with everyone. Some Hitler guy could kill everyone with a 'Death' Virus. Especially if the chips are connected to the Internet... |

| A virus is one thing, but they can also be easily tampered with.
Also, cost of placement and maintainance?
Also, why would we need it? I reckon some of the religious would go against it, especially if it were compulsory.

| Computers teaching you to do stuff? HA! *Spits milk in faces* 1) We hardly know anything about how to control the brain 2) WHAT? THAT IS LIKE THE STUPIDEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO! 3) It's easy access to controlling people to do stuff like die or go to the army. My scientific reasoning and I, are out! PEACE. I would never get this | |

| Okay what has every Sci Fi movie taught us? Mixing computers and brains is a bad idea. I would never put something like that in my brain... | |

| Actually, such devices may be useful for use in patients who have lost their senses, and need help to function in everyday life. Such chips may improve life for children who have problems, such as Autism and so, and thus may indeed be a good idea. This could be very useful in helping children who have missed grades in school, or patients who have Alzheimer or amnesia conditions. This chip could improve the life of so many individuals, bring new technology, and new beginnings. ***
These chips are quite potentially dangerous, and given enough power, could dominate the mind an functions of a human, and thus, shut the nervous system and other reactions down. Already, computers crash far too often to be in such a state of power. To risk many people's lives over a device that simply speeds up time is not only a wast of money, but a giant risk. There have been cases in which beetles have been controlled through nerves controlled by a RC remote, done in an experiment documented by PopSci, and soon, the beetles were dead. So, there's two opinions. I hope I helped! Signing off, 3DBlenderRender

I would never get this 1 and 3 conflict slightly... And 3D, those are some really cool points!

I doubt they would "physically" take anything away from you. Consider the ethical issues...

Consider the ethical issues... I don't agree with your thought. Of course scientist would want to change everything physical. Besides, changing people physicly isn't something bad... Think of what would happen in the medical sector. People could have new organs or new arms legs etc... It would be a huge deal. Back at the robot suit deal... We can make these stuff but the problem is always POWER SOURCE. Hasn't anobody watched Iron Man?! |
