I am starting on a new adventure that I actually started a while ago, but it got deleted. It's going to be pirate-themed, mostly set on or near the ocean. Basically, the story is going to be that some pirates stole a bunch of gold and you have to pursue them and retrieve the booty. But to make it even more interesting, the pirates are going to have the knowledge of steam power that the rest of the planet doesn't now about yet. So the pirate ship is going to be super cool and steampunk.

Here's what the ship will look like. Image is clicky:


Here's a cool statue that will be found in the island town:

(rates and/or comments on the ship and statue would be appreciated)

So, give me your opinions, suggestions, or constructive criticism. What do you think about this? (I won't need help with props or anything, so don't offer to help)

I was hoping that the pirates would be more serious. Silly pirates just don't tend to seem "evil". And in this adventure, they're going to be the main antagonists (especially the captain)

The planet that this adventure takes place on will be inhabited by the Crawman, a race that I evolved through space stage a while ago:


Except instead of space-age creatures, they're going to be dressed like traditional 18th century european citizens.

Also, I like to include boss fights in my adventures. So the end boss fight for this adventure will be with the captain of the pirate band, except he'll have some robot parts to make him harder to beat than an average citizen. The robot parts will make him seem more mysterious and raise questions about his origin, making the adventure all the more exciting.

That's all I have to say for now.

No, I try not to use those in my adventures. The only extra parts that will be used are GA and C&C, and possibly exoskeleton limbs if I need them in the future.

I love well-made boss battles, especially trying to construct them myself. I hope you make the end boss especially dramatic. May I suggest that, for the fight, you must sink the ship, while fighting off the crew and the invincible Captain?

Actually, this boss fight is going to take place on an island that you follow the pirates to. Making the deck of a ship is really hard, too. But the boss will be very hard, so you will have plenty of weapons (such as grenades) on hand, and you will receive help from one of your allies. Of course I'm not going to tell you who that is, since it would ruin the story.

One thing I can assure is that this adventure will not take very long to make. Probably around a week. With school out for the winter, I have plenty of time to make this adventure, and it isn't going to be a terribly complex one, and I already have most of the story mapped out.

I'm making sure to spend lots of time on the town. It is already really awesome. I put some seagulls and stuff to add to the effect. I made the town hall on a little island connected to the main island by a bridge, so it's looking really good. I'm hoping it will get in the CACOS sporecast.

You mean on the Sporum, right? I never thought of that. I hardly ever use the sporum, but that's a good idea. I won't do that until the adventure is out, though, so I hope I remember.

I have now finished the town in my adventure. It is called "Seadom". I am working on the uncharted island right now. In Seadom, there will be a giant lighthouse, three ports, a market, a town hall that is on an island separate from the main island, and a cool entrance with palm trees, seagulls, and a big old gate. I think that it has a good chance of getting in CACOS, but we'll see about that once I'm done the adventure. I think the entire adventure may be finished in a few days, possibly even tomorrow.

In the meantime, I just released a bunch of props and NPCs for the adventure, so you can look at them on my spore page if you want. Just click my sig to get there.

I seem to have run across a moderate error in making this adventure: I accidentally made the island on the south pole of the planet, so the sun isn't in the sky like it should be, and the lighting is really awkward. I don't really want to have a boss fight if it's portraying the wrong atmosphere. Does anybody know how to fix this? If not, I have another plan in mind...

I think I've found an answer to my problem... you won't need to stay in the pirate hideout for very long, but there will be no boss fight and instead there will be a different challenge. If you've ever played any Metroid games, you can probably guess what will happen.

EDIT: The adventure is pretty much finished. I just have to tweak a few things. I'm gonna play it through a few times and make sure that I'm not forgetting anything, and it will be released tomorrow. And I'd like to say, you do NOT want to miss out on this. It is gonna be really good.

Lone, I read your review for my adventure in my comments. Here's what I have to say:

1. The reason that the props were out of place was because of some strange error, it happened to one of my other subscribers too. I really don't understand how to fix it at all, since it works fine for me.

2. You weren't supposed to jump. If you looked carefully in front of the place where you rescued the pirate guy, there was a huge key that says "You should probably take this with you" suggesting that you should probably take it with you. You use the key to open the door to the fortress. Also, you use a crate of bombs to break down the wall out of the fortress.

3. The reason they left without the treasure is because they wanted to leave the fortress fast enough that the bomb wouldn't go off on them. If you were listening to the dialogue, then you heard the guy say "If we can't have this treasure, then nobody will." That was the point that they were getting across.
