This has become a HUGE problem in this forum, and if it needs repeating. I'll say it here.
Relevant Threads.
I know, it might be a radical idea to make a thread that actually MEANS something or isn't redundant. But lets try it. An example of a relevant thread would be my portal 2 thread. That is spreading info on this wonderful game which will hopefully come out next year. It brings up good discussion, videos, and hopefully. It spreads the good will that is portal. However, a thread that ISN'T relevant is one that doesn't do anything for anyone, like the counting to 1000 thread. It was a fun idea, I'll give you guys that. BUT THIS IS WHY WE NEED A SPAM THREAD. You guys should do it there, if you finally decide to either make it return, or just keep it out of the picture
So, here are some guidelines for Relevant threads:
1: Sharing something that interests you or that you find funny
Comedy videos, documentary's. Anything that intrigues you. And could teach other users a thing or two, or just makes them laugh. We all like those.
2: Debates, or addressing RL issues
If you have an issue that interests you, like me with stem cell research, or you want to have a friendly discussion about what is going on in the world. By all means do it. You guys can exchange ideas, have a friendly debate (Notice: Friendly) Or just share an issue.
3: MAKE SURE YOU WANT TO STICK WITH THE THREAD
This might be a no brainier, but it begs repeating. It's annoying when people ask for a thread to be locked for no reason. So please, just make sure you want it to stick around
4: Forum advice
We like your feedback, and if you see something wrong with the forum. TELL US. It's great to know what you guys like and don't like about the forum
Those are some guidelines for you. But not all of them. And just a tip, I'm going to be a lot more strict with threads. If I see that it's not going to last, or is completely irrelevant. It will be locked.
Enjoy your future posting.
